Logan Hunter Sargeant was born on December 31, 2000, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. At just eight years old, he began his racing journey in karting. His talent quickly became apparent when, in 2015, he won the Karting Federation Junior Championship. This victory made Sargeant the first American to win an FIA karting championship since 1978. Sargeant’s next step was into the Formula 4 UAE Championship in 2016, where he finished second general, securing an impressive 15 podium finishes. His career continued to rise as he moved to the British F4 Championship in 2017, racing for Carlin Racing and finishing third. In 2018, he transitioned to the Formula Renault Eurocup, where he placed fourth with three wins and seven podiums. By 2019, Sargeant returned to Carlin in the Formula 3 Championship, before joining Prema Racing in 2020, where he won two races, finishing third in the standings.

Formula 2 Success and Super Licence

In 2021, Sargeant raced with Charouz Racing System in F3, securing a win at the Sochi Autodrom. Later, he made his debut in Formula 2, racing in the final three events with HWA Racelab. In 2022, he earned a full-time seat with Carlin in F2, where he won races at Silverstone and Spielberg, finishing fourth general. This performance earned him his FIA Super Licence, qualifying him for F1.

Formula 1 Journey with Williams Racing

Sargeant made his F1 debut in 2023 with Williams Racing, becoming the first American driver in F1 since 2015. Despite a challenging season with seven retirements and only one point finish in the 2023 season (a 10th place at the US Grand Prix), Williams decided to retain him for 2024.
